Northwest units were dispatched to a garage fire in the Cutten Green community. Several of our units were already busy handling other emergencies and additional automatic aid help was requested from Champions Emergency Services District and Harris County ESD 17 Little York Fire. Northwest Engine 42 and Champions Engine 12 arrived simultaneously and both worked together to complete a coordinated attack to extinguish the fire in the garage and to ensure the fire did not extend into the home through the connected breezeway. Through the quick work of both units, the fire was quickly extinguished and the home was saved from the fire with minimal smoke damage. Harris County ESD 11 Mobile Healthcare transported two civilians for precaution due to smoke inhalation. Harris County Fire Marshal was requested and made the scene to investigate the cause and origin of the fire. The fire is believed to have been started in a vehicle inside the garage and is being ruled accidental. Even though some our units were busy on other calls, because of our partnerships with other fire departments, a quick response, and being able to work closely, this home was saved.
